I like the bee friendly bus stops BUT I do not think bees will.

There would have to be a lot of flowers for a bee to collect nectar fly all the way back to the hive and then tell other bees where the flowers are.

Maybe they'd act as stopping and recharging nectar points as bees passed through towns. :-) Or in some cases the hives might be in a town, perhaps in a roof or garden or empty building.

Harrods have their own hives on the roof way out of the traffic fumes.

I have learned to be careful of these seemingly great ideas.

One that went round was an idea to bury people in biodegradable bags. I sent it to Mark Jardine who said it was really only appropriate for babies and small children as you would require a large crane to lift and lower the bodies into the grave. Such cranes would not make it on to a graveyard.

So I would ask a beekeeper what he thought of it.
