Writing
I am still writing From Idea To Item. Actually, less writing, more cutting. In the last two weeks I removed 30,000 words, mostly sections called Drinky’s Digressions. The book will be huge already, I’ve already got to change the subtitle as it is no longer a brief overview! But I only have two chapters to tweak and then I can get some volunteers to read it and give me feedback on how useful it is for aspiring writers. I look forward to the day when it is finished, released, and I can go back to writing fiction! Fiction is where my heart lies, but non-fiction is part of me wanting to support new writers.
(In the meantime, you can buy my previous books direct from my website.)
I am behind with my reading. The other day I finally got around to perusing the 2023 Winter Solstice edition of Espin, the Scottish Pagan Federation’s journal. Then I saw this page:
Yes, I had totally forgotten that I’d sent them that article! It was fun to see it again. There’s an extended version of the text in one of my Rest Day Ruminations.
When you are an author you have a lot of data to play with. I analyse and create sales charts by title, vendor and date. Sometimes, when I dig down deep into them, they create shapes. It’s part of how my mind works to spot patterns in everything around us, so certain shapes become recognisable. Here are two.
Don’t worry, I won’t be sharing #6 “Boobs of Bounty” or #17 “Cock of Doom”.

That last one explains what I stand for. :-)
Thanks for reading,

I like the bee friendly bus stops BUT I do not think bees will.
There would have to be a lot of flowers for a bee to collect nectar fly all the way back to the hive and then tell other bees where the flowers are.
