(If you are a paying subscriber, ignore this - you’ll have received a separate survey!)
When I set up this Substack newsletter I tried to come up with bonus ways to say “Thank you!” for those that took out paid subscriptions. So I decided paid subscribers would receive posts about writing and publishing, fiction, and bonus personal posts.
Now I’ve been running this for a while, I thought I’d get some feedback on how it is being received, and whether anything needs to change.
As well as voting in the polls below you can reply to the email, or via chat, or as comments to this post (though note that you may need to create a free Substack account for some of those options). Ignore any questions you can’t be bothered with.
Newsletter
The Newsletter is the only content that goes to everyone: notification of new releases, and some personal gossip from the Domain of Drinkwater. You can skim the past newsletters here, to refresh your mind on what I have sent out so far.
Weekly Writers
Weekly Writers are short articles about writing, craft, and publishing, usually sent out on a Monday. You can skim the post topics here, to refresh your mind on what I have sent out so far.
Friday Fiction
Friday Fiction is fiction (sometimes serialised) by me or guest authors, usually sent out on a Friday. You can skim the post stories here, to refresh your mind on what I have sent out so far.
Rest Day Ruminations
Rest Day Ruminations are musings on various topics I’m interested in, usually sent out on a Sunday. It’s also a catch-all for posts that don’t fit anywhere else! You can skim the post topics here, to refresh your mind on what I have sent out so far.
Bonus Open Questions
Q1: Are you happy with what you receive? If not, what would you like to see?
Q2: One of my vague ideas is that paid subscriptions would focus on writers and authors, a kind of writing academy. So the posts about writing and publishing as now, plus writing prompts and chances to share work for feedback or critiques. Any thoughts on that?
Thank you for your time!
