Lost Solace Blog Tour
I linked to the full list of tour sites in my previous post (so go there for the full schedule). The tour is now underway, and I’d like to highlight a few of the blogs so far, and why I enjoyed them. If you follow any of these links, remember that these are the sites of book bloggers - people who read a lot, and recommend good books. So if you want some advice on what to read next, feel free to browse their websites for other good book recs!
ramblingmads said: “This book got me hooked. It’s an absolutely cracking sci-fi adventure, quest, detective series and you should definitely dive in.” Full review.
On Lecari we find out: “This was a fantastic read. Opal’s journey around the Lost Ship is incredibly tense. There were lots of horror-esque moments that left me really anxious for Opal and what was going to happen next. The atmosphere is eerie and unsettling throughout.” Full review.
This great quote came from Westveil Publishing: “This book is very fast paced … It’ll also rip your heart out and make you mourn simulations and characters you never get to meet.” Full review.
splashesintobooks reviewed it in rhyme! Extract:
”The story is enthralling from the beginning to the endA delightful sci-fi read into which your time to spend.
The world building is great and there are twists galore
As readers get this situation and future to explore.” Full review.
On Sharon Beyond The Books we find out: “Packed with action, tension, and adventure. Lost Solace with Opal and Clarissa was everything I love in a sc-fi thriller. Karl Drinkwater has created yet another excellently plotted story!” Full review.
And, according to So many books, so little time: “Opal is a fantastic character, complex, a history we learn a bit more about as we read on, she is heroic, loyal, strong and long long overdue in fiction. I loved the AI too and the relationship that formed between the two, the ballsy choices and bravery through frightening encounters and life and death situations.” Full review.
You can buy Lost Solace from any bookshop or online store, or direct from me.

Political News
I wrote a post on my other newsletter, Diary of a Parliamentary Candidate: “All New Endeavours Are Precarious - But also, often, precious”. It even includes some statistics! I’m more a wordy person than a numbery person, so it was an effort compiling data to show how unfair “first past the post” English politics is!
Thanks for reading,
Karl
