Hello to two sets of people. Those who already joined me here as I set up this Substack account … and those who I have teleported from my Gumroad newsletter to this new platform! I had just sent a farewell email via Gumroad, which provides the context for why I’ve had a sudden jump in followers. Whereas I’ve only sent one newsletter so far via Substack. Just like in Ghostbusters it can be dangerous to cross streams, but I’m hoping my nano-armour will protect me from the worst effects as I explore this strange new world.
I’ll keep this short. These newsletters (archive) will go out to everyone, just as before, whenever I have a new book release or major news.
I’d also had a few people ask how they can go further in supporting me. Obviously, leaving reviews of books, recommending them to others, buying books as gifts, or ordering them in a bookshop or library are all amazing ways to support an author. And I thank everyone who does that! This Substack has an additional option, for people who’d prefer to buy me a coffee each month. In return I’ll do extra posts for subscribers. Some are aimed at authors, some readers, and some are just personal posts. I’ve put the details of what I plan to do on the About page, and what you’ll get if you take out a paid subscription (which you can cancel at any time). In summary: free copies of books I release while you subscribe, plus Weekly Writers (Mondays), Friday Fiction (Fridays), and Rest Day Ruminations (some Sundays).
Well, that’s the plan. Things may change based on feedback from you lovely people.
I hope the journey wasn’t too bumpy.
