My local art gallery has this daffodil patch that blooms every spring. What a lovely idea! I always visit them when I am wandering lonely as a cloud.

A Something Of Golden Daffodils

Last night I taught this month’s WRITE! class, on the theme “Fun With Words”. Yes, it sounds like a kid’s TV programme, but we did genuinely have fun writing new definitions of words for a dictionary, and creating fresh portmanteaus (where two words get mashed into one).

I love portmanteaus. Some of my favourites are dudevorce: “when two bros officially end their friendship”; and doppelbanger: “a person who has sexual intercourse with someone that looks identical to them but is not related”.

As usual, the room was packed with lovely writers, though the lady who brings her dog was absent last night and I missed having a good cuddle (with the hairy fella, not the attendee). Therefore feel free to email me some photos of your dogs, cats and other companions.
