Lost Solace In Italian = Speranza Perduta
I had mentioned working on translations a long time ago, and there has been progress, it is just slower than expected. However, it is now possible to buy Lost Solace in Italian! Speranza Perduta is available in print or as an ebook.
Find some purchase links here, though bookshops and libraries should be able to order it as well. Grazie!
Karl The Inspirational Author?
Yesterday I was interviewed by Howard Lovy, for the Inspirational Authors podcast. It’s an honour, and we had a brilliant chat, even if he had to stop me once or twice because I sure can talk when it’s a topic I am enthusiastic about. Once the podcast goes live I’ll share the link.
I love working with authors, and inspiring them. In my most recent WRITE! class I brought in film posters from the cinema where I work, and we used them as prompts for some character descriptions. It was fun to study a face, then fictionalise a persona and write about what they are thinking, their world view, their backgrounds.
I sometimes do one-off workshops on particular topics, such as the one above on publishing options for new authors. Teaching and interacting with talented authors is one of my favourite things!
Going, Going, Going …
I mentioned that I’d be closing down my current online shop soon, so now is your last chance to buy anything before it disappears forever! If you just want to browse the items that won’t be available for sale after I shut the site, use this link.
Lastly, Karl’s Other Outlet For Talking A Lot
My role as a Parliamentary candidate has taken over my life at the moment. My inbox has a stack of emails asking me to pledge for different causes, or where I stand on important topics. I’m trying to work through them, providing full responses to every potential constituent, and then summarising my thoughts as a blog posts on my other site.
Since I last sent you a newsletter I have written … oh my! … twenty-two blog posts on Diary of a Parliamentary Candidate. Don’t worry, I won’t summarise them all here! Visit the site if you want to hear what I stand for.
I will, however, pick out three posts.
Consuming Ethically: which includes extracts from an article about me in Ethical Consumer, way back in May 2007! It calculated my household’s Carbon Footprint.
Golwg #2!: I was interviewed by Golwg, the Welsh-language magazine that has been going since 1988. The interview was a lot of fun.
Crunch Time: another piece of my wisdom tooth broke off, because the dental practice still refuses to do emergency treatment. Ah, woe is me. This is why I’m glad to be in the party that is committing £70 billion to the NHS. I truly practice what I preach. I hope your teeth are doing better than mine!
Thanks for reading!
