Bookish News
At the moment I’m caught up in numerous bookish things that don’t involve me writing! The author’s life, eh? Hardbacks from my Kickstarter have been published; From Idea To Item is in the process of going to publication; and I am putting together an anthology of other people’s work.
During some downtime today I then decided to build a new website for myself. And thus it came to be!
I have gone for brighter colours and no scrolling. Here’s a link to it. I’m also in the process of setting it up so you can buy ebooks and audiobooks from my page, adding things to a cart and buying a number of items at once, if you like. It’s not perfect, but after adding something it should be possible to “Continue shopping” and get back to my home page. I also plan to add some paperbacks, and maybe even hardbacks, so everything can be bought in one transaction. I’ll see how far I can get with that over the weekend. I’ve only added one paperback so far, for Lost Solace.
If you visit my new site and spot anything not working, or typos, please let me know!
Review Corner
This time, a review of Finding Solace from Pink Quill Books.
“This series is more than simple sci-fi. In Opal, Drinkwater has created a female character you can believe in and who you care for from the beginning, and even that is surpassed by Athene, the AI on board the ship who creates a deep bond with Opal. Sometimes it’s not easy for an author to write a believable, relatable character of the opposite sex, but Drinkwater has achieved all that and more with Opal and Athene. I highly recommend this series and its side novellas, all fantastic reads that add to the richness of the story.”
You can buy the ebook from me, or any online store. Paperbacks should be available to order in any bookshop, or direct.
Personal News From The Realm Of Drinky
I’ve been dealing with some crappy customer service recently (as documented here and here on my other site) but find time to appreciate the small things. The first cup of tea of the day. Doing exercise outdoors. Friends, family, Dolly, nature. I hope you’ve been able to do the same.
To finish, some people call me Karlos. Well, there is a real Karlos Drinkwater, and he is a Hollywood actor. He has bigger muscles than me. Here’s a video of my namesake teaching some stunt secrets:
May your books be wordy,
Karl
Angry Opal reminds me of Grace Jones ❤️
