Here’s a Friday Fiction, written by one of my author friends.
Sherima’s poem The Mountain was featured here in April. Her meditative style of writing is distinctive.
Enjoy! Karl
Green Mother Earth
Emerging from a deep sense of connection with our mother earth,
It has always brought lots of joy and happiness to every single soul.
Radiates its beauty into nature by being itself as green.
As our eyes catch up with its surrounding hills and trees,
It feels like a calm breath of air passing through our skin, as if we are being touched by its beauty,
And hearing the chirping of lovely birds in the background, it is as if we are listening to beautiful musical tunes.
Flowing through the deep waterfall is somehow a relaxing experience,
Maybe moving ourselves with that flow of water clears our mindset,
And gives a better sense of connection with our surroundings.
Even when we’re grieving for our own past experiences and challenges,
It makes room for us and gives us hope to see light in the darkness,
And it creates more lights for the mother earth to shine every night.
Once in the blue moon it radiates its positivity around its surroundings,
None of this connection will ever be forgotten by any soul,
Who knows the real sense of connection between mother earth and its natural beauty.
The colour green here has a great impact on each of us and truly reflects in our day to day lives.
We should be more grateful and blessed with the love and kindness that has been brought from this mother earth.
It’s such an amazing place to live by embracing each and every moment.
Spreading profound joy and happiness, planting seeds of hope and positivity,
Sharing the words of love and kindness, and giving comfort and support to everyone around us.
Words can not be enough to describe the true beauty of mother earth,
And it can be imagined as one of those days where we heard about this light as a great spirit,
That appears just occasionally to cleanse our hearts and souls,
Leaving a beautiful memory in our hearts that light can never be dimmed by our deepest pain and sufferings,
It will always rise from the depth of darkness and shine again like a silver star in the sky.
With deepest gratitude to our mother earth and mother nature for this precious moment to share these wonderful experiences.

About Sherima
Namaste, I am Sherima Pradhan. I am from Nepal, land of The Himalayas, a country known for its diverse culture and ethnicity. I have been living in Dumfries with my family for the last four years.
It was a challenge to adapt into a completely new place, new people, new culture. The ensuing pandemic didn’t help it at all. During those days I started doing some creative works such as Mandala arts which have had a great impact on my life.
As an optimistic, enthusiastic, passionate person, I love writing every day, it motivates me to express myself and my thoughts; one of my hobbies that gives me reason to smile.
I joined the WRITE! group at The Stove. The sessions are interesting and exciting, and I really enjoyed the recent session using images: deciding on the concept behind the picture and searching for its connection with the real meaning.
When Karl challenged us to write something on the theme “green”, this is what I came up with!
The poem seems to reflect the author; seeing beauty whether in Nepal or Dumfries. Sherima is an inspiration to me.
Beautiful!
