Here’s a Friday Fiction, written by one of my author friends.
I read Hannah’s poem in an old Lammas (harvest) issue of Pagan Dawn and thought it captured something of the pattern of life, so contacted her and got permission to include it here. It will be worth returning to this at the end of the summer!
First Harvest
Summer wanes, the wheel has turned,
Pause to reflect on what we’ve learned,
The ripened corn is cut and sheaved,
Our book of life turns another leaf.
Now the evening light grows low,
What harvest have we got to show?
The golden days will soon be gone,
The wheel has turned, life moves on.
