Lost Solace Up The Charts
I woke up today and noticed Lost Solace was at #2 in a number of Amazon and Kobo UK charts. It may have even reached number one during the night, but I will never know because I was asleep! Up above we can see it just ahead of Iain M. Banks.
It’s part of a promotion I am doing this week. All my ebooks are on sale, so it is a wonderful chance to grab a bargain, or let your fiction-loving friends know about it! Here are some of the online vendors participating in the deals:
On a less positive note, Lost Solace made it to the semi-finals of the 2024 Book Bloggers' Novel of the Year Award, but didn’t get to the finals.
Censorship
As an ex-librarian I don’t agree with banning books. Here’s an interesting article I read yesterday: Freed Between the Lines, “Banned Books Week Reminds Us About What We Lose When Ideas Are Censored”.
Me In Another Paper
My new book, Afua, got some coverage in another local newspaper!
Focus On A Review
This time I’d like to highlight a wonderful review for Finding Solace at Scintilla.info. This quote in particular, which captures the essence of this series:
“This may be the last of the Lost Solace books. If so, it is a fitting end to a thought-provoking celebration of filial love. Opal in particular is a memorable figure, both because of her indomitable will and her innate values. Author Karl Drinkwater has created a protagonist who is driven by love to do the impossible. In a literary world full of characters driven by ambition, greed, vengeance, or any number of other motivations, reading about someone compelled by a pure love for her little sister is refreshing in so many ways.”
May your days be bright and shining,
Karl
That's pretty impressive, Karl. Good on ya!
